Looks like they are interchangeable with the exception of the headlight mounts and as JJR points out(I almost forgot) the air deflector bolt holes along the lower front edge are found on the 67-68's and not on the 69-72's. Feel free to add anything I might have missed.

top is 69-72

mount hole is bigger on the 69-72

It is my understanding that they are basically the same with the exception of the headlight bucket on the 69-72. You could remove the 69-72 headlight bucket and carefully put it on a 67/68 core support and use it on a 69-72 truck. The 67/68 support also has bolt holes along the front bottom for the air deflector that was used in 67/68 due to the small grille openings. The 69-72 support does not have these holes.

Yep.

Anyone want to buy a 69-72 core? It's in great shape. I was not aware of the differences when I was replacing my '68. Found out the hard way.

Hey Blue68, why not remove the HL brackets and drill the deflector holes and use it as a 68?

its actually a gravel shield to keep rocks from going up into radiator, etc.

Hey fellas, Does anyone know of a good way to remove the drivers headlight bucket on a 72 C-10 and raise it up 1/2"? Mine is too low and it looks like they are spot welded on. Has anyone had to relocate theirs? I measured and compared to the other side and it definitely looks like it was installed too law at the factory. This is an aftermarket radiator core support. The funny thing is before my drivers fender was replaced and the new (used) outer grille was installed, everything was fine...I still don;t know how to post a photo, other wise I would.

I used a spot weld drill to remove the buckets.

I have never had to relocate a headlight mount on a core support. That's really bad quality there.But,as mentions,they are spot welded on so using a spot weld drill is the best way. You could air chisel them off but more messy creating more work. I have seen guys cut them out and patch in,too. It all seems like too much work to me,unless you buy a spot weld drill. Still should never be necessary. Too bad you can't just get your money back and get a good usable part...oh well
