new guy needing help
i just got my burban about 3 weeks ago in oregon and got it all the way down to texas without any problems. then the next day the rear end went out. my question is how to read the option codes in the glovebox. or if anyone knows what the stock rear would be since it has to match with the front. its an 89 4X4 1500. its got the 350 TBI and as far as i know it is all stock. i really want to get this thing back on the road so i can stop driving my wifes car (its got friggin stickers all over it!!) PLEASE help me.

Your rear is a GT4 ,Thats means its a 3.73 posi.. The front may not be but the rear is... The only bad thing is if the rear is blown, its going to be a little pricy with that ratio and posi... I can see if anyone local here has one for a good deal,Shipping is not that bad.. I have a rear going to eastern pa and its 150 shipping.. I am in western n.c. and i have a 87 burb coming in next week. but its 2wd

thank you so much for your help. and dont worry about checking local. i have a guy in waco that said that he can guarranty that he has anything i would need and he will beat anyone elses price. so i went to another place and told him what the guy said about beating anyone's price and asked him to just give me a rediculouly low price on one so ill get it real cheap. well that guy quoted me at 175 for the whole rear end...and the guy that actually has the parts is going to beat it.
anyway thanks for your help and since you have been so helpful i was wondering if i could just PM you if i run into any more problems. -steve
