well just messing around and installed my instrument cluster,pluged it in and when i turn on the key the temp gauge pegs out hard.i dont have any of the senders pluged in at this time.what gives????????????

Did it work before? # 6 pin on the connector (dark green) is the temp wire--trace it back to sender-must be grounded somewhere.

i installed a new engine harness and i replaced the under dash harness with a nice used one.this is driving me crazy.is there a chance of some miss match in my harnesses?i really hate wiring

Is your harness for gauges, or dummy lights? They are wired differently.

Funny thing. I was just putting a new cluster in mine and it did the exact same thing. Did you figure out what was wrong with yours?

Well i just checked it and my harness is for gauges.What now????????Try another dash harness??????

maybe you've got a bad gauge I've restored several of these and I've had a few that have done that and everthings works in my truck I know this as it is where I test all my clusters. I've thrown away all the one's that have done that with the impression that they are bad. I have plenty of these temps of you need one and I have a nos temp gauge as well. my .02 Randy
