Needed: AMMETER gauge
Does anyone have a working, decent looking, original AMMETER gauge they would sell/part with?
I have been trying to troubleshoot my power drain problem, still no luck but I took my truck over to my uncles house and he noticed right away that my gauge was not working like it should be? All my gauge ever does is sit on the middle line untill I start the truck and then it moves about 1/8" to the right and sits there. It never "discharges" or whatever when you turn the lights on with the truck off. I have no clue about it but he seemed to think I should see more movement in the gauge, more positive when charging and negative when discharging. Any ideas or pictures? |

Ammeters don't seem to have a lot of problems. If it moves at all it is probably ok. They are not precision indicators. Have you checked the little fuses on each side of the radiator?

My drain was coming from my alternator when I accidentally crossed the polarity on the battery cable. When the battery was fully charged it would start, but drain the battery shortly after I park the truck. I don't notice any movement in my ammeter at all. After replacing the alternator (internally regulated) it doesn't drain anymore.
