Anyone have fuel injection and a poly tank
I am changing my tank to the rear frame rails and installing fuel injection, so i need to put in a return line and mount the pump in the tank what size line can i use and can I modify a poly tank so it will work. I want to use the stock pump from my doner car. It is a 1996 Trans-am. I have enough braided hose to run my fuel line,it is 1/2 inch. Will this drop my fuel presure too much

I would think it would be kind of dangerous rigging up an electrical circuit to run inside your gas tank. Detroit does it, but they have some pretty high paid engineers too. If I were you I'd mount a fuel pump on the frame rail. You could call summit and they could match one up to match your motor. The poly tank has 3 ports on the top of it. You can use any of them for a return line. The fittings included with the tank are ribbed for a rubberline, but you co uld go to the hardware store and get some fittings with an inverted flare so you could hook up a steel line to it.

chevyman,
I believe Classic Trucks magazine ran an article in the past 6 months doing what you propose. I can't remember if it was an internal pump or not. If you subscribe take a gander at you back issues. I'll try to do the same if I remember tonight.
