3/4 to 1 ton front suspension on 2wd crew cab?

I have an 86 2 wheel drive 3/4 ton crew cab. I will be bagging and body dropping it, so i'm not worried about the difference in the springs. My question is. what do i have to change to have dually wheels in the front? Spindles? Rotors? Brakes? Ball Joints? Control arms? How about ART arms, can I use them with the 1 ton parts?

Thanks

I have an '86 1 ton CC Dually and a 3/4 ton '91 Suburban both have 8 lug wheels. Both 2WD.

The suspension pieces are the same, control arms and steering.
Brakes are different, spindles are different, calipers are different and spindles and ball joints are different.
I suspect if you use the 1 ton ball joints in the 3/4 a arms (which are the same) you could then put on the 1 ton spindles, brakes, ect.
By the way, the 1 ton stuff is about 50% more expen$ive than regular truck stuff!

Look up www.rockauto.com and put in what you want to cross reference with the other vehicle. See if the part numbers are the same, if they are your in business.

I would put the 8 lug 3/4 ton spindles on, still 8 lugs like the back but MUCH ea$ier finding wheels. And cheaper!

Sure, everyone makes them. Take a look at www.summitracing.com or www.jegs.com.....

Try http://www.firestoneairbags.com/webs...ties-frame.htm
It should be the Macs Springs website, they carry all kinds of stuff.
From my understanding the Western Chassis stuff is the best for price and quality.

That is the wrong site!!!!!!
Put Mac Springs into a search engine,I Don't know how I got there

Try www.macsspring.com
Yup, thats the one!
Go to online catalog, front end stuff
Part # WP1016

I have a 1 ton CC Dually that I am going to put Westerern Chassis spindles on.
Macs Springs has the best prices.
Bell Tech is another option.

Be aware that the 1 ton spindles are different than all the others!!

Click on the Macspring site address, scroll down the left side to Western Products, click on the catalog page, click on spindles and components,
click on #1016, they are closed until 3/28/05.

I didn't realize they were closed till the 28th, they are probably adjusting the prices to follow the rise in steel prices. Could be wrong though!

Just remember the 1 ton dually spindles are different than all the rest, (more complex, bigger, $$.) Call the tech department of what ever company that you pic to be sure of proper fit!

I think the spindles were around $350 for the 1 ton dually 3" drop. Could be more ,could be less I don't remember!

(at my age the memory goes firs.......what was the question??? )

Everything for the 1ton Dually and Crew Cab is more expen$ive.

It isn't an econobox pos, but then again I can haul an econobox in the bed if I have too !!!
