Poll! Will I get the K5 out of the Garage tonight?

Aside from the unexpected, I may actually pull it off. Of course, this is after my original target of Friday, then Sunday and now tonight. Major points of contention-

a) I have to get it lower to get it out of the garage- probably 2-3".

b) I rebuilt an 'Ebay special' Carter 600cfm carb, and redid the ignition at the same time... Could be minor setup and tuning issues.

I am sure keeping my fingers crossed that I can get it out tonight, and get some pics to you patient folks.

Will I make it out?

I called Murphy and told him he was NOT welcome tonight. He has been staying with me for like 2 months now, and I have HAD it! Told him to back his bags, and not let the door hit him on the way out.

Wife will like that one. I just hope those tires hold a bead at like 10-15 psi!

Just called Interco tire... Guy says I can get em down between 8-10lbs, and I should be fine. Says guys do it all the time.

I always like calling Interco, I like that Luisiana drawl them guys and gals have... Always sounds so easy going and relaxed.

You should be able to lower those tires down to 4-5lbs. I used to wheel my Jeep with just 8-10lbs and that was without bead locks. They shouldn't pop a bead. Just throw it down in 4low to go good and slow.
Good luck, we all have faith in ya!!!

Well, didn't make it guys...

When I was moving the trans cooling lines away from the headers a week ago, I must have tweaked one a little too much and it was leaking like a CIV when I started cranking the motor. Lines were totally ghetto from the PO, so I knew I was going to have to redo them, but (*J$)(*) not now!

Oh, and absolutely no fuel delivery... I think the fuel pump went South. She's a crankin over, but no fuel is hitting the clear filter by the carb. I always had pretty hard starts when the truck was sitting for a while due to fuel delivery. Is that a sign of a fuel pump or something else?

So, does anyone know the name/size to ID the trans cooling line fittings? (like NP2 or whatever). In the meantime, you guys think I could cap the trans cooling lines just to get it around to the shop?

BUT IT DOES LOOK BADASS... My camera memory is at work, so I can't take pics until tonight.

Totally bummed,

Russ

Trans lines--don't cap off--plumb one into the other --will be ok this way for a trial run.

Well, picked up a B&M Supercooler and all new plumbing... Might as well do it right. Also picked up a new fuel pump. If all goes well tonight, I might take another stab at getting it out tomorrow.

Thanks for the continued support...
