How rare are Panels????
Looking at buying a Panel, to me price seems to be high for what I would get. Are they really that rare, I know they didnt make as many of them as the burbs, but come on its still a 67 - 72 series, they must of made more than 1.
Body is alright, but still needs a resto. PO bought it for $1000 9- 10 years ago, and is asking 2500 for a torn apart ,no drivetrain project. I want it, but not at that price. thats what started it all anyways, right Lazyguard? |

sounds high for something that's stripped and no drivetrain. then again how rusty is it? if it's fairly rust free then it minght be worth it. i hear the panel trucks are notorius for rust.

That price seem high to me also, unless it's basically rust free, and everything is there and in decent shape to be reassembled.

Good panels are hard to find. For 2500.00 US. the body better be in good shape.
Most that you do see are rusted pretty bad,the barn doors rot out and are real hard to find. this pass week a member in Pa. found a pair of mostly rust free doors he didn't need them but I told him to hold on to them because someones always looking for them and there hard to find. So if it's pretty much rust free with good doors in back I'd would most likely pay the money for a roller like that.

I might know of a 68 panel. I'll see if it's still for sale. This one was at a decent price if I remember. If it is I'll see if I can get the persons number and you can deal with them direct if you are interested.

Its not rust free though, both sides of the floor and kicks need attention, and probably the rockers also. he has done some work to the body, but it was 9 years ago. It was spayed with DP40, but it will still have to sanded back to bare metal. Barn doors were alright, fronts were good. never looked at the front clip because I was planning to replace all the metal. no engine or tranny, drum brakes. It s far from rust free, already have a rusty 57 panel, if I was to tackle one it would be the 57.
Unfortunately he was very firm on the price, If anyone is interested, pm me you email address and ILl send you some pics. Thanks Darren |

It kinda depends on how bad you want one and how much money you have. I had wanted a Panel forever and when I started really searching I found quite a few for a wide range of money. The one I settled on was 98% rust-free and 99% dent-free, in running condition and after new brake shoes, passed Utah safty inspection to be registered. I paid $3500 and have never once felt like I got burned. In a perfect world, it would have been a '67, but '68 it is.

Sorry it's sold. Well someone said they'd buy it anyway.

in regards to the original post the panel body was available 67-70--this makes them a little more difficult to find having been discontinued before the 67-72 truck series finished.
