Ballast Resistor-Help
I had to replace my coil and the new one requirers an external resistor. My 1969 GMC does not have a visible resistor and my wiring drawing do not show a resistor. Do these trucks have a resistive wire and not the resistor?

Yes. The stock wiring has a resister wire that feeds the coil.

Yes, it's in the wire going to the + side of the coil.
Should only get about 9V on the +side if I remember right...

there are no ballasts or resistors on GM vehicles, the wire itself is not copper if you look at it, the material of the feed wire to the coil is the primary resistance in the circuit, its between 1 and 2 ohms
