Dash gauge swaps

I know this has been beat to death in a similar format but my question swerves from the typical a little bit. Now I know you can change the wiring to convert a dummy light dash into gauges, but can you convert a gauges into dummy light? Either that or for you guys that took out the original stock oil, temp/ extra gauges and put different ones in, what did you do to the wiring on the back? I want the gauges dash so I can stick my tack in the middle and still have the turn signal indicators but I don't want the stock gauges along the bottom. Reason being I want to know more than just cold/hot Can anybody help me out here? Thanks

I'm with you. I've got a gauge dash but dont' want to put it in because I also have a idiot light cluster with holes cut out on the bottom for 2 1/16 guages, which is how I'll go, for the accuracy of it. Mine currently has the idiot light cluster.

You Darn Right DMEC how you do that? How did you get rid of the factory wiring in that panel so nothing was hot back there?

If you got to GMCPauls site there's an instruction thing on what to change from idiot light to guage dash. He's got a schematic with all the wire colours and where they go on the plugs. They are differnt, so you can't just plug a differnt type dash in. Go there it should set you right

I know about that stuff purple but i'm doing it backwards
I want to either go from a gauge dash to dummy light or bypass all the wiring on the gauge dash to put in my own gauges

Dmec, that is cool. What did you have to do to make it work as far as the bottom row of gauges wiring?
