bbc help searched with no luck

i bought what i thought was 72 bb towers/motor mounts.
i dont have a pic but i think theyre 73 up sb.they line up on frame rail and one hole on crossmember but 4th hole is way off on crossmember.they use the tower/mount/ and clam shell that bolts to block and use the long bolt with a nut that runs front to back thats about 5in long.

will they work with my 402 and headers/th350 with out much problems in a low hump cab. and if so will 3 bolts on tower hold it or do i need to drill the other hole in crossmember.thanks for the help henry

THAT MOTOR MOUNT PICTURED IS A 73 ON UP M/M. THE HOLES FOR THE TOP FRAME RAIL ARE ABOUT AN INCH & A HALF CLOSER TOGETHER ON 72s, & ARE YEAR SPECIFIC. (MEANING THEY ARE A ONE YEAR ONLY ITEM) JOHN

I've got good news for you. When I did a BB swap on a 71 with the correct 72 BB mounts, we had the same situaltion you describe, and had to drill the 4th hole. Assuming you do have the 72 BB mounts (if they don't look like the 77 version pictured you proably do), just drill the 4th hole and you're good to go.

72 shadetree i did the exact swap your talking about, you,ll have to drill the fourth hole like they said. i put a bb and th-400 under a low hump floor and if fit really well about a inch or two clearance from the floor too the tranny.I used ceramic dynomax hearders for the 67-72 cheavy truck and they fit really nice with no problems with the factory short shaft accesories. hope this helps john
