find the short

after i had my exhaust done, i realized i had no running lights or dash lights. drove home, no biggy, blown fuse. throw in a new one the next day, blow it again. is finding the short something i can do myself or do i have to take it someplace? most of the electrical stuff is a little complicated, right? or at least for the true beginner (me).

It's got to be a wire touching somewhere. Did an electrical connection get knocked loose during the installation? I had one loose on the 79 that kept blowing the fan fuse.

i dont know if it got knocked or what, i may end up calling the guy that did my exhaust and ask him what might have happened too. pisses me off... every time i take her to the shop something happens... always. first the torque converter, then the tranny, now this.

can i find a wiring diagam and would that help me? i've probably got one in my shop book thing

i would think to look where the exhaust mounts are, look to see if a wire was slightly melted that may be causing a short or else along the wiring on the underside to see if the muffler or pipes are causing so much heat to soften/melt any wires
