If you come to the brookings car show I will show you mine. It is an Access cover. Its vinyl and is made locally. You will have to buy it for a 73-87 chevy pu and notch the rear of the rails to fit your truck. Thats what I had to do. I will e-mail you pics of the notching if you want or just check it out on Sunday.

I know you said you didn't want a fiberglass one but I really really like my checkmate flush fit cover. Only gotta drill a few small holes. Check them out, trust me! www.checkerpro.com
My 2 cents

I have one of the checkmate vinyl covers. fit flush with top aluminum frame, clamp on no holes to drill. I think it was around $165

I don't got a pic but mine is a hard checkmate cover. Cost about $400 plus shipping looks nice and locks up. One of the best thigs I have done to my truck.

I like the cover. It doesn't stick up or anything. From the side view you can't hardly tell it is on there. It seems to seal pretty good, but the only time my truck usually sees water is when it is washed. Don't drive it too often in the rain, unless I get caught out in it. Too much detailing to do under neath. It is stationary it does not hinge up, but I think you can buy the hinge kit. Then you have to drill your bed. Bill

It is pretty much a staionary unit. only way it comes off is by the 4 c-clamps style clamps. You can still operate the tailgate as far as getting into the bed.

I will send you the company name on mine tonight. It was only $180 and there are no holes to drill. The frame c-clamps to the bed sides and the cover snaps to it. Comes with weather stripping to seal the rails to the bed top. I think its finish line out of Indiana. I'll get the info tonight though. Jeff.

I have a vinyl cover that I took off of a 72 K20 that I would love to sell. It is a very dark blue and it is for a long bed. It has the aluminum frame with no holes required. Love for it to find a new home cause it is always in my way. Located in Cincinnati Ohio if anyone is looking for one.

Ok. I was wrong about the name. Its an INDY ORIGINALS. Their number is 1-800-987-4639 and they are out of Indianapolis like I said. They had covers for all years, long or short bed. Give them a call and see if you like it. I really like mine. Jeff.

I have a Lund tonneau cover on my truck. I bought it through LMC although I'm sure you could get it elsewhere. I like it, its also super easy to install with no holes to drill. It has black vinyl cover with snaps that hold it down, these are easy to snap off and roll it back. I believe i paid around 300 but you might be able to bring the price down if you didn't go through LMC.
