Hi There

Im mostly on the 73/87 forum but im gonna be hanging around here also now since i have bought a 72 GMC Jimmy

I think im gonna come with some stupid questions..sorry about that and my poor english writing since i come from Norway

Some pics of my baby that was delivered to me last night:

The car is in rough condition. But its one of two or three 72 GMC Jimmys in Norway !

The car is original a 4x4 but im gonna make it into a low 2wd

This was last night and the axles is already off

The collection of old Trucks (72-80-78)

Now im gonna get it inside the garage and start tearing it down

You are right about all the cars

Its outside my garage..outside is also a 79 Caprice - 67 Chevelle 2dht - 76 Caprice 4dht and offcourse the 14 cars inside! We are three brothers and two buddies that rents the hole "ranch"

The 67 Chevelle is actually a parts car for my brothers 66 Chevelle 2dht Super Sport 396 !
As you can see this car is totaled

But my brother got a lot of hard to find parts for his project..All the brake brackets etc.

The prices are much higher over here.
But you can find some grate deals as well. The 72 costed me 428 dollars...

Hmm. From looking at all the pictures, I have a couple of competing theories:

1) You have a strange fetish with removing axles.

2) Axles are a big black-market item in Norway.

3) Somewhere you're building a huge three-axled UberBlazer.

Which one?

I'm amazed that there is one 72 GMC Jimmy in Norway at all, much less 2 or 3! They are seldom seen here even on the East Coast of the US. Rust got most of 'em.

Do you have rigorous inspections for cars like they do in other countries, like Germany etc.?

Hmmm, Ive seen considerably worse chevelle's saved. I wouldn't call that totalled, unless there is severe chassis damage I cant see from the pic. The main thing on those cars is the roof, and the over all structure. Everything else is very replacable.

Nice little collection of American cars you have there. I can't imaging driving an SS396 at over $6 a gallon, but then, alot of people pay that for race fuel in their high compression motors too. Anyway, very nice collection, especially for Norway.

Yes we do have the same rigorous inspections here also. Every new american car sold to norway have to change all the lights and seat belts
