Hub caps

I just saw a set of hub caps go on e-bay for 135 dollars or so! What do the " correct " hubcaps look like for particular years?? Did any of the K models have hub caps from factory???
Thanks,
Dave

I think if we are talking about the same auction those were four 3/4 C20 caps with gold bow tie centers. The correct for 69-72 are the same cap but with blue centers. Most trucks came with them from the factory but few stayed with the wheels over the years. The fronts are different for the K series as they have the hole punched out for the hub locks.

Actually, the yellow bow tie ones can be pretty rare....most were chromed steel....the early ones were not steel, just lik our 69 - 72 ones. If you see some that look like they are brighter than any others you've seen...it's probably the chrome ones.
In the 69 - 72 C/20 trucks, they had white ones just liek the stainless ones, and in 69, there was a handfull of gray ones made. I have one of these, in decent shape. I plan on making it much nicer here soon....it is a bit darker than gray primer...and a gloss paint of course.

There are tons of aftermarket hub caps....but no reproduction hub caps are being made as far as I know.

I know where a set of 4 white hubcaps are. I took my truck to the mechanic for a state inspection and there was a 71 shortstep already there. This thing is bone stock original. 83000 miles. 250/3 on the tree. rubber floor mat, no lighter. Basically a no option truck, but 10 times nicer than mine. It was showing some rust but not even in the same category as mine. It's what I would call pea green and I'm very sure it's the original paint. Unfortunately the current owner has let it sit so it's got mildew all over it. (Apparently he got it from his dad who bought it new)
