Rear Disc Brake Question - Master Cylinder
My local wrecker has a Seville "in stock" and I think I could get the rear calipers for a good price. I recently read a thread (can't remember which one) where the thread starter was happy with the brackets that he bought from this guy:
http://stores.ebay.com/Home-Improvem...Q3amesstQQtZkm. I want my truck to look stock, but I really like the idea of front and rear discs. What master cylinder/prop valve will work with Disc/Disc setups? Is the master cylinder the issue, or just the prop valve? It would seem to be easier to just find a disc/disc prop valve.

Here's a post a while back with some good info.
I replied to that post with part numbers of the parts I used for my rear disc swap. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=149149

CPP sells a disc/disc combination valve for these trucks.
As far as the master cylinder, the disc need a bigger resevoir for fluid because as they wear the fluid level will drop in the master cylinder. Drums have a mechanical system to adjust for wear, so the master cylinders on drum brake trucks are smaller. I bought the master cylinder for a 68-74 corvette and the CPP proportioning valve, but have yet to put it all together. You can use the stock master cylinder with the proportion valve from CPP but be sure to monitor your fluid. This has been done by alot of people many different ways and I am not a expert on this by any means. Just be sure to keep safety in mind... Good luck, Rg
