Dome light switch??
Where is/was the switch located on the door or door frame to turn on the dome light when doors are opened?? I can't find any on my 69 but there is a hole just below the door latch in the door frame area. My friend has a 70 and there are no holes in his door area in this same location and he can't find any switches either.

There were no door switchs on some of the base model trucks.

as he said not all had them but if they do it would be between the door hinges on the cab kind of aiming at the door next to the weather stripping there is a little flat spot where there should be a hole.

To add a little bit, this option was from 69 and up only, and found on CST/Cheyene trucks. But like said, optional on all lesser equipped trucks.

Here is a picture of my '68. The switch is in the hole that is used for a rubber bumper. There wasn't a factory spot for it. I'll probably put a flat spot in the door jamb like the factory style when I get to the body work stage.

I forgot to mention that when it is where I have it on my '68, I catch it with my shirt ALL THE TIME. It's a terrible place for it.
I have also used a hole that is toward the bottom of the door jamb on the latch side, but it would snag my pants and I have broke a few switches that way.

well ckhd, you don't have a switch placement problem, you have a fashion problem. Have you ever considerd a spandex jump suit? No loose garments to catch on things, a real safety bonus, not to mention the fact it would really accent your "Abbs of Steel".
