Ultra Rare Factory Option Gauge Cluster W/ Speed Minder

When was the last time you saw one of these? Excellent condition gauge cluster and plastic bezel with factory original speed warning. I removed this from a truck years ago and have yet to see another. You would have the ultimate set up with this if you add the factory tach, impress the judges at the truck shows and stand out from the rest! ebay# 454416982 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMESE%3AIT

My RestoRod has one but it doesn't have a buzzer (that I'm aware of anyway) but mine wasn't a factory tach truck.

Hey Thanks 67c10step, I've decided to sell this cluster along with some other parts I've accumulated and start shopping for a nice 68-72 Chevy or GMC P/U or a 67-69 Camaro. It's been a long time since I've had a nice cruiser! Sorry PICKMUP, I do not have any other components to go with this cluster. On an above post Rod mentions a repro harness is available for $16.00 and Corvette supplier Paragon offer The buzzer. I don't know if it is the same one that the P/U uses. 10-4 BIG ORANGE, I guess I'm not as up to speed on the old trucks as I should be! In the past I have seen the speedwarnings on Corvettes, Camaros and even Impalas, but this is the only one I've come across for a truck. Do you know how common of an option it was?

Cool.
Do you have any late 60s era 427 engine parts

If you're looking for a Camaro project - checkout www.camaros.net

Biscut Batter,
Don't EVER come back to Florida! YOU YOU...
WE don't need a speed warning to tell us how fast were going. We have State Troopers that do that!
AND I bought a set of Blazer Rear Seat OEM front hold down brackets for $10.00 in NC. Missed that...

I tried looking up the paragon buzzer but my com-puker didn't like the adobe file. There are buzzers on other site related to vettes that DID NOT look like they would work. I think people are thinking of a seat belt buzzers....not same application or wiring. The speedwarnings are out there..but they are best for people if complete..it took me a long time to find the little pieces that are often missing or forgotten to be taken off when people just see a weird looking dash and pull it out not thinking or knowing that there is a buzzer back under the dash also. I once sat and watched a guy pull a speedwarning...he was happy....I sat back....waited....asked if he was done , he said yah and left....the I went and got the buzzer he left behind. Then I went and met him in the parking lot as HE WAS DESTROYING THE DASH FOR THE GAS GAUGE. He didn't even know what he had.

Oh, the buzzers are the same in some other applications GM used but for speedwarning dashes.

Buzzers

Buick was very good at selling speed warning in the late 60 through late 70 cars. They combined the horn relay and the buzzer into one unit. The wiring terminals are in a T shape. The top 3 are the same as the truck horn relay with the buzzer(wire from cluster) being the leg of the T. I use these whenever possible because you don't have to drill another hole to mount a separate buzzer. Also they are quite plentiful around this area in the wrecking yards. Not quite right for a 100% resto job but very serviceable. I have used mine for 12 years now. I wasn't quite as lucky as Bisquick but only paid $25.00 for mine. I have found 3 speedwarnings in junkyards over 12 years(none in the last 5 years however.)

I didn't think the Longhorn option was available until mid '68! Maybe you left behind the rarest find of all, if it was a '67 GMC Longhorn!

It had the longhorn option on the glovebox door. And the cluster has a date of L-9-66 on the printed circuit. It may be one of the 1st made...
