How do I tighten up the play
I just bought an 81 Silverado ( I love it, but it needs much work). How can I tighten up everything so the truck isn't all over the road? When I hit impurities in the road, the truck is all over the place. Are there certain things that can be replaced, to get rid of all of this play?...ball joints, shocks, control arm bushings? Thanks for the help.

the first thing to do would be to take it to an alignment shop and they would be able to tell you what parts you need to replace, then just go get the parts from your local auto store and replace em take it back and have it aligned, with out being able to see the truck it's hard to diagnose exactly what you need to replace...by the way welcome....

unless you know that they have been recently replaced, it might be a good idea to go ahead and replace it all.. for peace of mind.. ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, control arms bushings, idler and pitman arms...
i have to do all of these as well... but a transmission comes first...
