Do I have a rare 68 chevy truck?

I purchased a 68 C10 custon longbed for $500.00 2 years ago, and the original owner insisted that the 327 was a factory option 300HP. I have to go to the parts stores asking for an SS car for the correct parts. The option tag reads:engine-04L30AC. It is not listed on any searches on here or the web. Any insite on this motor?

Welcome to the board from Kent, WA. Did you get the casting number off the driver's side of the block by the firewall? That is usually a good place to find info as well. Did you get the other number off the engine deck in front of the head on the passenger's side of the truck? Check there.

I just searched for L30 327. It appears it was in the SS cars. Between 275 and 300hp. Nice.

My GM Restoration Package lists the L30 option as a 240 hp 327. That would have come with a 4-barrel Rochester Q-jet. Check the cylinder heads and casting numbers (driver's side rear of block near firewall) as well as the number on the front of block (deck in front of passenger side head). My '68 option code is 04L30CG and it is a 240 hp 327...so maybe the LC is higher hp. In 1968 they show also show a 250 hp, 275 hp and 325 hp 327 available, supposedly, only in the El Camino. If you have one of those bad boys, it would be a rare engine option for sure.

The 327 4bbl I just placed into the Panel truck came from a C10 2wd 1968 Chevy Pickup.

The 327 I have came from a '68 'Burb. The first two digits are scratched off the option sticker, but the others are ??L30CB. The build sheet just says L30, though.
