Door Handle/Lock Mechanism
Anyone got a diagram how these things work?
The drivers side door on my C-10 won't latch shut when I close it. I opened the door and there's a little paddle wheel like device that I can just spin with my fingers. It's like it's not catching or something. I've got the panel off and been snooping around a little bit but I figured it'd be a little easier with some instructions or a diagram of how this works... Any help would be appreciated.. TIA J

Sounds like the spring broke. I would try to find another latch.

So it's easier to just get a whole new latch and not fix the spring on the existing one? Okey dokey

Well... I took the old locking mechanism out. seems the spring was one right or the mechanism itself wasn't really installed correctly. When I got it out it seemed to work just fine. So I said what the heck and put it back in the door to test after cleaning it up a little bit. Door and lock work fine now. I can also lock the door now which wouldn't work before. Lucky me. Didn' thave to buy a lock
