Need some measurements
I am gonna try and cut a piece of steel plate to use as a bed floor for my swb stepside. I need to know the inside measurements of the bed. Thanks

Stepsides are a hair over four feet wide.

I have never seen a wide bed. Maybe a flat bed?

SWB stands for short wheel base. SWB is a 6'6'' bed. LWB is long wheel base which is an 8' bed. Then you have a Longhorn, don't remember if it is 8'6'' or 9'. Stepsides can be either long or short and have the fenders outside the bed. Fleetsides can also be long or short and have the fenders inside the bed. Sorry krue for hijacking your thread.

Krue, I have a 69 SWB Step. Unfortunately, it is full of parts right now, so I could not get an accurate measurement. But, just using a tape measure on the top, it looks like it is 50" wide and 77" long.

Krue, Mine is 50.25 x 77.50. If you are going to set it on the "L" (angle) brackets in the bottom of the box 50 would be good. I measure my length from the front of the box to the inside step where the wood usually rests. My box is a converted '77 step but there should not be a difference.
