Windshield washer pump: parts source?

I had to open up my cowl to install my shiney new antenna and decided to fix my washer nozzles and pump at the same time. I disassembled cleaned and lubed the pump put it all together and it worked! ...For a second.

Took it back off and discovered I had broken the gear on the wiper motor. There is a ratcheting cam inside the pump that has a worn out lobe causing everything to lock up. While recreational junkyarding, I managed to get another wiper motor gear. The donor pump had the same problem though.

Unless someone knows where I can get the pump cam, I would like to find another factory style pump. Napa had one listed, it was solid-state and did not fit. Kragens has a special order for $52 but I am afraid it will be a solid-state conversion instead of the factory style. The parts guy had no clue since he had never saw one. LMC shows one for $29, have not called em yet.

Any suggestions?

Better deal here http://www.chevyduty.com/frame-store.html

I had to replace mine. I was going down the road and used the sprayer when the clunk cycle should have stopped it kept going. It was less than impressive. I pretended to hold my finger near the button as to show everyone that I really want my windshield clean. A couple miles down the road I was home.

I don't know if this is what you wanted or not, but I got my wiper motor(remanufactured) from Advanced Auto Parts. I don't know whether it is solid state or not. It bolted in ann works. Note...washer pump not included. I think it was like $40 for the wiper motor. I got it overnight.

Do you just need the four lobe cam that runs the pump? I got a pump from Chevy Duty and didn't replace my old cam with the new one since mine was O.K. If that's all you need you can have mine, it's still in the pack.

Thanks for the offer Powell72. Thank-you no. I found a replacement for the one you have at the wrecking yard. The part that is broke is a ratcheting cam in the washer pump. A lobe has worn completely down to where the pump now jams. I have a local 67-72 vendor here. Gonna bite the bullet and pay em a visit after work today.

chickenwing, you live in Rio Linda next to now closed McClellan AFB, right? Super Muscle Parts (used to be ChevyLand parts) is on Recycle road in Rancho Cordova. Besides muscle cars, they specialize in 67-72 Chevy & GMC trucks. Click on the "contact us" button to see a mapquest map of their location. Give 'em a call for a price and availability quote.

Thanks for the lead.

I found them last year. Kinda just bumped into em by accident. They are down the way from pick-n-pull.

Was hoping to find a commonly available part # from a regular autoparts store. Just being cheap, I guess. Think I found a good ratcheting cam at the Rancho pick-n-pull. Will assemble this evening and test...
