Fuel door Mod , What do you guys think??

This is what I have now. The PO chewed a hole where the filler neck came out and put this ugly a&& door on. Looks like he cut it out with his teeth. The other is the bedside from a 2000 s10 pu. How do you think it would look if I cut it out and put weld it in the side. I have the stock fuel door from the s10 but I am thinking ,( Billit fuel door)

I think that would be an excellent replacement. It will look right at home on your panel.

Although I think it would look better with the panel in my driveway

Round is good... the lines of the truck are right for a round fuel door. And ditch the billet idea. Stick with the stock S10 door. Clean and tasteful.

sounds like a good idea... my dad used one of a ford pickup (don't know what year) on his suburban. It is round, but has no indentation...you push on the opposite side to open. Just an idea to make it a little smoother

Extend the idea a little by using a remote release unit so you don't have the finger notch. Then it'd be a pure circle in the panel. Just a thought.

I think the one Wes used was out of a Chrysler minivan that has remote open.

There is nothing new under the sun. There is however the outer fringes of the universe if you wish to "go where no man has gone before". Doing so if fraught with the pitfalls of bad taste and lunacy. A certain pink cowboy cadillac comes to mind when discussing fringe lunatics.

I like the idea of correcting the previous owner's indiscretions and misguided use of the sawz-all. Take heart in the fact that what you accomplish, while not being truely unique, has brought new life to another old truck, and given you a sense of accomplishment and pride in the process. Go for it!

Mario - You will find Wes at www.myoldtruck.com

CPNE - Around here (where there are real cowboys) that pink pickup wouldn't win the owner anything but a quick trip to the emergency room.
