April TOTM 67-72 voting
Bouncytruck
Here are the specs: 1972 Blazer - 350/TH350 3.07gears/235/85R16 Tires on stock 16 white steel wheels. Rust free and stock with the exception of a 4" lift and aftermarket steering wheel. AC truck with dealer installed "Hickey" side tanks and step bumper. As far as I can tell, the top has never been off. Still has the factory markings on the firewall and the inner fender has the build date. I am the 4th owner, previous two were both board members who each owned it less than a year. I have a brand new Specialty Top Co soft top waiting to go on it as soon as a spot in the garage is cleared for the hard top. |

BobbyK
71 CST 4x4 Blazer.
-Front grille is from a 70( I like the 70 grille better than the 71-71 eggcrate grille).-Rebuilt SBC 350 with a 1992 speed density TPI fuel injection.Eng. is mated to a TCI 700R4.Rear 12 bolt with factory Gov-Loc and 3:73 gears.Up front is the factory open Dana 44.-Dual electric 14" fans with a home made metal shroud.-Stock suspension with 33"x12.5"x15" All Terrain Radials mounted to a set of 2nd gen factory 15"x8" ralley rims.-7 month rebuild in 2003.Did everything but take the body off the frame. http://public.fotki.com/blazbk/blaz...uild_of_blazer/ -Rebuilt factory A/C system but I did convert it over to R134 last summer.Blows nice and cold at about 40*F.-Rebuilt the interior and installed some reproduction black vinyl seat covers. Both the two front buckets and rear bench were redone.New ACC carpet set as well. The truck does remarkably well offroad ,even in it's stock suspended form. This is a labour of love and continues to be to this day. |

Luv2xclr8
"gq" The Untold Story
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, I Deceided I Wanted To Buy A Blazer Last Year Instead Of A New Full Size Truck, I Saw This One Posted On The 67-72 Board For Sale & Fell In Luv Immediately, However I Could Not Afford His Asking $$$, A Few Month's Went Buy And The Price Continued To Drop, It Got To A Point Where I Just Said To Myself, "i Will Have More Than That In Mine W/o Even Getting To The Point That His Was In" So I Made The Deal In June, We Discussed Details And Pic's For Almost A Week Or Two And I Said, "i'll Take It". Sent Him A Bank Check, The End Right Wrong, Lined Up Shipping Through A Carrier That Works For Me At My Place Of Buisness, She Said, "no Problem" And It Would Cost Me About $1000.00 Shipped (enclosed) Well After 3 Weeks She Deceided They Couldn't Do It Because Of The Lift Kit, Called Another Carrier And Got A Bid Of $1600.00 (enclosed) I Asked If They Could Take All The Extra Parts That Would Not Fit Packed In The Blazer, And They Said, "no Problem" When They Went To Pick It Up They Refused The Extra Parts And Said, "no" I Told Them We Agreed On Everything & They Asked If I Wanted My Money Back, At This Point I Was Just At A Point Of Screeming, I Called The First Co. Back, My Friends, And Asked If They Could Get The Extra Parts, They Said Yeh, "for $100" So I Reluctantly Said, "do It" Then I Had To Call The Other Place Back And Ok Them To Get The Blazer W/o The Parts Since They Had Refused The Week Before, When It Was All Said And Done I Waited Like Close To 2 Months For Delivery, Seemed Like Forever. It Was Purchased Incomplete And I Have The Honor Of Finishing It. (thanks To Joe (aka 1972blazer) For The Beautiful Rust Free 1972 Cali Blazer And All The Hard Work And Effort He Has Put Into It) Future Plans - Well It's Coming Together A Lil Slow, But I'd Rather Not Rush Her, So I'm Just Kinda Piddling Along On It Right Now, The Future Of "gq" Has Changed Several Times, Now I Have The Cowl Hood On Her And I'm Getting Ready To Do The Ss Exhaust In A Few Weeks Or So, She Will Be Painted "ppg Triple Black" A Honor For A Straight Ride To Get The Black Treatment, Seat Covers Are Black And White Houndstooth, All Clear Markers And Tail Lights, 8 Ball 4wd Shifter Rear Side Panels W/ Scroll Work Like The Door Panels Have, Getting Ready To Put The A/c On, Would Like To Go To 10" Wide Wheels And Possibly A Understated White "yenko" Camaro Stripe Down Her Side, Have The Tailgate Band For Her, So No Stripes On The Hood Or Tail, Hope To Be Finished W/ Paint And All By Fall Of 2006 If All Goes Well |
