Finally....Pics of my C20

Finally got some pics of my C20. Bought from 2nd owner. Factory big block with AC. Everything works. Only rust in cab corners. No rust in supports or rockers at all! Nice old Truck. Came with Mitchell camper (1969 vintage) in GREAT shape too. Could not resist buying it.

Nice truck, from a fellow C-20er. Is that a dealer aux tank? I've never seen a filler neck there before.

Great truck Lemield!

Interesting that some trucks have rust in the rockers and not in the cab corners, while others are the opposite. I wonder what the difference is. My truck didn't need cab corners but I had to replace them anyway in order to good access to the rusted rear floor.

Jt,

I think it's a factory Aux tank. I'll check the option sticker and let you know.
The mechanical tank switch looks factory to me.

It's ugly but functional. Makes it tough to work on the truck though!

I have that filler neck for my saddle tank at the front of the bed. It is on my options list. Have never saw a factory or dealer installed tank in rear of the bed. Have been toying with the idea of using the same set-up for a burb tank addition.

When you put the camper back up, take a few pics. Looks like a good setup.

The camper does look nice. From the pic it looks like it was garage kept! What color is the center stripe on the camper?

Yeah, I have the factory aux tank with the filler in the front of the bed, too. I've never seen a factory in the back like that, but it seems to have the same filler neck and height. The dealer ones I've seen have that little door on the bedside. If it was factory, that would be one rare option!

Ok Guys,

I checked the option sticker and it says Aux Fuel Tank. In the bed, there is a metal channel that covers the filler neck and it looks factory too. The switch for the tanks is under the seat with a lever that sticks out by the door sill. There is even a sticker indicating main and aux. Looks factory to me. I'll try to get some pics and a pic of the factory option sticker.

Nice push set up you have . Did the truck come with the tire on front as you have it or was this something done later? Why was the spare not put under the real of the truck? Did not know if this was a factory option on camper specials. Really sweet truck.

Would like a pic of the fuel tank. I suspect it is between the frame rails.

86swb,

The spare carrier was added by the PO. On the factory sticker, it indicates a bed mounted spare. It's not under the truck because the aux tank is between the frame rails....just like the conversion tanks mount.

Chickenwing....you are correct. It looks just like the Blazer tank to me. Between the rails.

Yes, I can see where the front mount would be better than the inside bed mount. But it just seems to take away from the beauty of the front of these trucks. But should help (and hope this never happens) if you hit someone with your front end. It's like an air bag but a air tire for your front end.

I don't think so because didn't they usually have the door on the bedside to access the tank?

I have saw the fugly aluminum doors and the blazer style necks like you have. I have the style like on your green 70 pictured here. Just find it VERY interesting if a dealer did this clean of a job. Suspect a repair in that bedside in one of the 2 usuall filler neck locations.
