You want a little more power out of your distributor?
Your talking about replacing the coil and module? New cap New rotor Better plug wires Timing changes?

I used to run the Accel coil on my 83 with HEI but now run the HYPERTECH Super Coil which really improved the overall performance , the HYPERTECH has a higher output than the Accel.

You could get the MSD module and coil.
You will notice a little difference in performance, but not very much. When I switched only the module from stock type, my idle jumped 100 rpm. Not sure why it jumped my idle up, but it did. I corrected the idle and it ran a little better and idled a bit smoother.

Remember that the module only replaces 4-pin modules!!!
Some stock distributors didn't have 4-pins, they had more. MSD 8501 HEI UPGRADE KIT MSD 83645 MODULE ONLY MSD 8225 COIL ONLY
