Headers and clutch linkage
I got a 1971 Chevy C-10, 350, 2 wheel drive, 3 on the tree, 1/2 ton pickup for my 16th birthday. Now, a year later I dropped in a brand new factory GM 350 engine and am looking for headers.
I am going to order the exhaust on-line and want to make sure that the headers will not interfere with the clutch linkage, as most of the headers have the * and say something like-"will not fit standard transmissions without clutch linkage modifications." Modifying the clutch linkage is NOT something I want to get into. I am looking at Holley Hooker Competition headers part #2452, or Hedman hedders part #69092. If you have these headers and they fit, or if they don't fit, please let me know. I am open to any and all suggestions.

Welcome to the board. I have Flotech headers I bought at PepBoys that cleared the clutch linkage just fine. 99 bucks. They're over four years old now, and show no signs of rusting through, or cracking. I'd buy another set.

I have the hedmans also. The one thing that I do not like about them is that they hang down below the frame. Get some that are shorter and you will be glad you did.

I have a set of headers I bought from summit racing for 79 bucks. I have had no problem with them at all. They did not get in the way of my cluch linkage either.
