700R4 Progress

I have the 700R4 bolted in place. Problems started with removing the Turbo 350. The PO installed the Turbo 350. While doing so, rounded off the outside fittings on the cooler lines. He must have also used a thread locker. I had to cut the cooler lines. The rear cross member is of unknown origin. I use the I6 motor mount stands in the rear holes, there is not enough room for a stock rear trany mount. The stock shifter hooked up ok by using the bracket off of the Turbo 350, shifts thru all gears at least while still on stands. After two 140 mile round trips to Longview Texas I have a shortened and balanced drive shaft with new u joints installed. When I get the driveshaft back in I will be able to determine what to do about the rear mount. Tomorrow I plan to go to a local parts house for tubing and a bender, the cooler line kits from the trany vendors were to steep for me.

Try going to a local hose place and getting some steel braided or even just high pressure hose made up, easier to run down the frame rail and stronger, My 2 cents
