Gas guage on E always.
I know the gas guage worked like 1200 miles ago and i then changed the tank sending unit b/c the guage wasn't reading acurately. then it just went hay wire on me and now will only say E.
That is unless i take the wire off of the sending unit and put then it goes way past F. SO i then take the wire and ground it to the tank directly and it goes back to E. I think it's my sending unit. any other thoughts?? sswj

Sounds like you figured it out. There is a short somewhere between the stud for the brown wire, and the float in the tank.

You'll have to talk to a vendor, or get a used one. Used should be pretty easy to find with so many ppl getting rid of there in cab tank.
