4.3 V6 to V8 swap Questions
Does anyone know how involved a swap would be from a 4.3 V6 to a 73 vintage 350 in an 87 1/2 ton?
The 350 is a warmed up stocker with #492 heads, 2.02 intake valves, and aftermarket cam. I forget the cam specs, but it is the Summit knockoff of an Eldebrock Performer. Would it be possible if used the following 350 throttle body from a late 80s truck aftermarket TBI intake (to match the older style intake bolt orientation) aftermarket or stock 350 chip change the clutch to match the older style flywheel used on the 350 V8 radiator and shroud V8 engine mounts I assume the 4.3 accessories should bolt onto the 350 Reason for asking is that I might be able to pickup a complete running 87 LWB with a 4.3 and A/C. I have a 84 SWB that has the 350 and a shot body. |

Dave, you can fix the center bolt holes in the TBI intake in just a few minutes with a die grinder. Just elongate teh holes accordingly and bolt it up. That's the only difference in them. Other than that and the stuff you mentioned, the only other thing I can think of is that you may have to do something with the exhaust, depending on what manifolds/headers you run to clear the dipstick on the 350.
