GM Cab Mounts?????? Still Available????

Can I still get GM Cab/Support mounts for a '69 2x4 ???

Anybody know the part numbers?

Any Board Vendors carry them?

Problem is that I have new mounts in the truck already but they are poly's from Energy and i had to shim the front of the cab up about 1/2" to get the fender to line up with the door - and I know I put them in right cause i checked and doubled check before i put them in. I just don't liek having shims in there and the fender to door gap was fine before i pulled the truck apart so i'm assuming that the mounts are the problem

Upper mount: 3951798 does this do both the core support and the front cab uppers.

and then Rear Upper: 6262170 just does the Rear Uppers.

So I would need:
3951798 x4
6262170 x2
3953135 x6
?????????????????????????????
gmpartsdirect doesn't have descriptions for the part numbers so i didn't know about the uppers being different for the "core/front cab" and then "rear cab"

it says about $91.45 with shipping from them and if you add it up by the list prices it comes out to $126.76

Thier Prices add up to $73.92 so shipping would be $17.53 which seems a little on the high side but still better than list i guess. maybe i can get one of my local body shops to order me them for thier cost

Read his post above, he's got energy suspension mounts, but had to shim them anfd he didn't like them.

Did you try running those part numbers at your local dealer? just don't tell'em for what year truck they' are, because if you do they'll say "oh no got nothing for those trucks"

Sorry, missed Energy Suspension part. I just ordered a set for my 69 burb, hope I don't run into the same problem.

Those are for the cab mounts only, not sure if they'll fit under the core support.

I don`t think it`s the mounts.Unless there`s something about your truck that it needs more flex in the mount to line-up.Is it going back together with all the same parts,I take it?

I put a new Radiator Support in the truck aftermarket "Goodmark/Tri-Plus" and the only thing that i can think is that they spot welded the core support mounting pads lower than original which would raise the the front of the fenders up giving me the gap that I had. when i jacked the front of the cab up about 1/2" it straightened out. (the fender gaps were fine with the old dry-rotted mounts). I used factory Doors/Cab/Front Fenders that were all original to the truck. I only changed 1 cab support (Left Front - but that doesn't effect the mounting area as the body mounts are under the cross piece that goes from the firewall to the back of the cab and not the floor supports.

I just hate knowing that there is 1/2" worth of shims under the front cab mounts.
I only bought the energy's cause you could get them in a whole kit and for a little less $$$$
I'm kinda frustrated now if it isn't the mounts cause i didn't change anything other than the core support

Can you check that new core support against another one?Did you scrap yours?If the old cushions were real squished,maybe the sheetmetal settled with it and got a little tweaked?I don`t know,there isn`t that much to them.I know it all fit before.But,could it be in the frame horns?Just guessing around.I wish I could help you .

yeh the original support is long gone went to the crusher in a junk car many months ago.

so i can't really compare it. The only think i thought was to try the GM mounts to see if that helps.

I ordered mine from Year One because they were offering a 10% discount. They said that it came with all hardware, but it didn't. If I had to do it all over again, I would order from a board vendor.
Oh well, live and learn.
