I have on order 4" drop coils for my burb. They are supposed to be burb specific for the extra weight.

My questions are:

Who has done this drop without the frame being notched? How much room is there?

I have not bought the shock relocation brackets yet are they real important?

I might need to modify my exhaust as it looks as if the axle will hit. Has anyone gone over the axle with there exhaust without clearance problems? If not what have you done to exit in front of the tires (exhaust tips, exhaust kits)?

Any help or PICTURES will be great.

A 4 inch rear spring will be fine without a notch. I had an old '69 burb with 6" rear springs and it was fine. I had to trim the bumpstops. And you will too. I would highly recommend the shock relocator. Otherwise the "angle" of the shock is too flat. You actually "lay" the shock over on bumps,... instead of compressing them. The shock relocators will most likely require a shorter shock also. Remember,... don't always expect the new springs to be exacly 4" shorter than your wore out 30+ year old springs. They might be more like a 3" drop. I always recommend Early Classic Enterprises for products. And make sure to put a front sway bar on that thing. It's the BIGGEST improvement for the $$ that you can spend. Hope this helps.

I have 3.5" drop coils on the back of mine. No clearance problems, in fact, it will carry about the same load as before the drop. My exhaust did go over the top of the axle with no problems. It might again sometime, I just ran out of pipe when I did it last weekend, so it stops just in front of the differential.

My shocks are in the original location, and even the original shocks. The long travel just doesn't go as far, the bump stop is the same as stock. If there was anything I'd do over that would be the panhard bar replacement so the axle is centered better. My left to right is off maybe 1/4" or more.

The package I bought included:
3" front springs
lowering shocks
front sway bar
4" rear springs
lowering shocks
rear sway bar
adjustable track bar

I know my current rear springs are toast because the PO put a bunch of rubber shims in between the coils, so I had nothing to compare to. Sounds like the shock relocaters are a good idea.

I do have a stock front sway bar now. I believe the new sway bars are Hellwig front and rear. Anybody have any experience with them?

i got one of those but havent put it on yet , i dont have a clue to how it fits i stuck it under the truck just to see if i could see how it fit and still dont have a clue

but i do know i need to change my exaust before it will fit

oh i got mine from cdowns he said it worked great

by the way if anybody has the papers that came with one , can i take a peak at them to see how it goes on there please
