Bolting a Blazer Tank to the bottom of the frame.........Good or Bad Idea??

I wasn't happy with the straps supplied with the tank so I bolted it to the bottom of the frame. It has a extra piece of tin on the flange so it is reinforced there.
Good or Bad Idea??

I wouldn't do it. That's a lot of stress on those flanges. I would think that you will get cracks around those flanges from them having to hold the weight of the gas, and bumps are going to be hard on the tank as well. Use the straps.

The flanges will fail for sure, find another way.

What was so wrong with the tank straps that you didn't like?

They didn't even seem like the were for this tank?? I'll make up a set of straps myself to help support the weight.
Thanks.
