Shinny things make me smile
I wash & waxed the Blazer today. I also removed the hardtop yesterday and installed the brand new soft top. Now, I just need summer to hit the northwest!

Here's some pictures of the top hanging in the garage. It is the cheap method of one man top removal. I thought about building something like bobbyK did execpt with a manual crank, but I started adding up all the pieces, and it was going to be around $200. this system cost me less than $30. I did have to remove the spare tire and the rear seat to drive out from under it, but that wasn't too hard.

Wow, Bouncy...
Your Blazer is so clean... it looks like it belongs in a sales brochure! I like the way you hung your top, too. Most times the simplest solution is best. How heavy is it to lift that way? If it's tough, you can get some rope hoists from Harbor Freight for like $6 each... might make it hella easier.

It wasn't hard to lift. I just got under it and lifted with my back against the top and pushed with my legs. With the windows down and the hatch up, I was able to reach around and hook the loop of the rope over the end of the 2x4, which raised it about 2" off the bed. I put some long bolts down through the mounting holes into the 2x4's to ensure it didn't slide.
This is where the system came from. It is simple, but it works. http://home.pacbell.net/jls-dls/RemoveTop.html

Well, the pizza cutters are stock. My plan, when time and money permit, is to get the stock steel wheels widened and put some 33's under it. I'll need to get some new gears too, since it has 3.07's. I like the stock look and want to keep it "pseudo-stock".

I had a set widened in Spokane by Watt's Wheels years ago. You must have a place near you though, if not check 'em out. Blazer's looking awesome, nice colors. |

The color is a match with the seats. I got some swatches before buying the top.

It has 4" of lift. I like the way it rides. It is a much nicer ride than my '69 which has a 6" lift and 35's.
I didn't realize how much oxidation I was getting until I started in on the waxing process. I was just going to do the hood, but after the cleaner, it had so much more shine than the rest of the truck, I just kept going. I used the Meguire's 3 step process (cleaner, polish & wax). Of course, it is raining today, so I don't get to show off the shine or drop the top (ahh, life in the pacific northwest)

Looks great! Are you happy with the fit of the top? How long did the install take?

The top fits pretty good. I took about 3-4 hours to install. For those of you who aren't buying the snap tops because you don't want to drill holes, get ready to drill holes with your fasttrack. I'd say there are as many holes needed as the old kayline snap top on my '69 - they are just for brackets rather than snaps.
I'm sure once it stops raining and I get to pull the side windows and put the top down, I'll be thrilled.

That thing looks as good as or better with Pizza-Cutters than any Blazer I`ve seen with the big meats. They have some meat on them.It shouldn`t be about the dough. That thing`s got the sauce. No crust on that thing. No matter how you slice it,nice K/5.I`d eat,I mean, drive it.Not trying to get cheezey, but it takes reserve to put together a top-notch ride.Going with "The Works" is a good way to appeal to most. But,for those who know their pizza,I mean trucks, what you have is going to be appreciated.I guess you could call it "Gourmet".

I agree,I like deep-dish as well as thin.One thing for sure,with the 4"lift you wouldn`t want personal-pan.Not filling enough.
