Question Ceramic pads / shim?

I got a set of ceramic disc brake pads and they came with a adhesive backed shim. They did not include instructions for shim... Does anyone know which pad the shim should go on - the piston or the caliper frame?

Thanks,
Parrish

Don't those have small dents in there to clear the pad's rivets? I stuck mine directly to the pad on my wife's Olds. I assume they are similar to those.

The ones I've seen are a set of 4, are one for each pad.

I think it goes piston side. I believe that stock GM shims are only on the piston side.
