2" springs seemed fine to me. Didn't even notice the difference in the ride. The handling was better though. Buy good shocks though. Never had any spindles. Seems like a good choice since nothing else changes.

I just did a 2/4 spring drop.

one problem I am running into that you should consider is that I am only about 3/4 inch from the bumpstops and it bottoms out easy...

if you get the correct springs for your vehicle ride quality shouldnt have to suffer, its just the geometry of the suspension that you alter with springs as compared to spindles.

I had the same problem when I shortened my front coils. I trimmed of some of the bump stop so it wouldn't "bottom" so quick. I noticed it seemed to handle better after the drop. BUT my caster/camber was thrown off enough to wear out the tires on the inside in about 2 weeks. so I temporarily added one shim to each set of spacers to set the wheels out some till I get it lined up correctly.

I've had both separately on different trucks and would only use spindles if I only needed a small drop. I use both because I like it a little lower.

I did a 4/5 drop on my truck. 2" drop spindles and 2"drop springs on the front and 5" drop springs on the back. The front geometry is less stressed when you use the spindles. I now have this truck in pieces doing a frame off which will include a 4-way air bag system.

I have 3-5 spring drop, the ride is a little harsh but managable.
