Hit it hard today!
I jammed out alot on the truck today.
First I mounted and balanced the new tires for the blazer, then I started on the shortwide. Got the bottom of the bed off, started removing extra crap from the frame, got the booster and master cylinder off, got the cab bolts out, and just cleaned up alot more stuff. Still alot of cleaning, sanding, prepping, and painting ahead for the frame, but it's begun and I am ready to starting going forward instead of backwards now bed bottom ready for the stripping house Pile-0-junk My brothers truck in its resting place where it took it's final breath today

I wish I knew what the deal was with it. We've had two buyers in 7 months or so and they both backed out. He bought it in primer stock height with a blown motor for 1200 bucks, dumped just about 6000 more in it, and we can't even get 2500 out of it.

im curious about the rear supports, why did you chose to bend them the way you did? you would have added more strength had they been straight from the halo to the frame. the bend is now a huge weak spot.

N2TRUX, yea I know about the primer deal, however my brother hasn't had the time to touch anything really. It's getting parted out now anyhow.
Jeremy, the picture below will explain more... The chassis builder I use is one of the best in the area, and he's been building racecars since before I was born, so I trust his judgement that it'll be OK.

Not that it matters, but here are a few of the hundreds of cars that have rolled out of his shop. I am pretty sure they have to be pretty safe to hit the track legally... The red vega and the beretta are piloted by him and his oldest son.

not owned... the fact remains, the straight rear supports are stronger. i'd almost bet that if you look into any of the cars posted, they're all straight. is yours NHRA certified?

you have me there, as it isn't certified... yet. Like I said, you are probably right about straight bars being safer, BUT it doesn't mean that what mine is isn't safe enough. At any rate, if it won't certify, it'll be changed for free. It is going back in in a few months to be upgraded to a 10-pt. anyhow, so I'm sure I'll be overkill for how fast I'm going to be going.
