Rear bumper brackets different from pickups? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I am replacing my late model bumper with a sport bumper. The brackets I have are hitting the body mount. I pulled a bracket off my 4x4 Blazer and it has been clearanced so it doesn't hit the body mount. I assume this is the way Blazer brackets were correct? So I can just remove some material from my truck bumper brackets to make them fit?

I have attached a picture. The one off the Blazer is longer, but it looks like I will still have at least two bolt holes that match up with the frame on the shorter one. I don't want to remove as much material b/c you can see that the one broke at a bolt hole.

2wd & 4wd bumper brackets are different. I'm not sure what is different, perhaps what you posted. I just know there are always separate listings for 4wd brackets.

I thought that was the front brackets. The front brackets are different because of the spring hangers.

Here is a pic of the ones I sold to a member earlier this year,
I did not need them because a 72 Blazer uses the end of the
frame as the inner brackets, and yes 2wd and 4wd front are
different also because of the spring hangers as mentioned

*Can't verify whether or not they are p/u or blazer, my PO
got alot of parts for "GQ" off of a rust free cali 67 cst p/u

This set of bumper brackets is for the SWB 2X4 and all 4X4. Note the length and reinforcement piece welded to the bracket.

Here is the LWB 2X4 and Coil Spring Rear set. Note they are shorter and no reinforcement. The outers are the same.

I would guess that the reinforcement would keep the bracket from braking like 71swb4x4's.

Thanks for the pictures Wes. So should my 2wd Jimmy use the bottom ones? I think I am going to have to do some modifying to get these to work.

Is the 2WD a leaf spring rear? If so, the (top) 4X4 ones will be what it needs. WES

It's coils. I had to trim a tiny amount from the flanged part, it was hitting the rear body mount. The body has been off before, and they used a couple of big washers, one is interfering with the bumper bracket, not a big deal. They are on now. Thanks for the help!!
