Short bed 3/4 Ton?
I have a 2wd short fleet big block truck that I hope to use for towing/hauling.
Couple questions: Can I just install 3/4 ton springs in the rear without issues popping up? Should I also put some 3/4 ton springs up front when I do? Both front and rear are coil springs. Okay then, out of 24 views nobody seems to know the answer.
How about another one? Is there such a thing as a 3/4 ton front Coil spring? |

it seems to me that the 3/4 ton springs would be ok. prabably ride a little rougher though but your gonna use it for towing anyways.

1970 K25, 8' stepside bed 350/465/205 44 up front, 60 in the rear 4.10s rolling on 33" Dunlop MTs 1986 K5, 350/465/208 Dana 60/14 bolt from a cucv 36" Super Swampers TSL/SX 1983 K20 w/ CUCV axles, 350/700R4/208 sitting on 37" Goodyears 1986 M1031 6.2 diesel, TH400/NP205 locker in the rear and a LS in the front, all stock for now..... 1986 K30, 350/400/205 dana 60 and 14 bolt. I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm

3/4 ton coils seem to work great.
Towing a car hauler doesn't even make it squat anymore. We'll find out how it is with a truck behind it when I go to NH to pick up jc's 3/4 ton lwb 4x4 Aug 7/8th. Anybody need anything moved/hauled? Traveling down empty. One thing I did need to do was install a set of 3/4 ton shocks in the rear to get an exceptable return rate, the 1/2 ton shocks couldn't handle the new springs. To sum it up...VERY worth while conversion. |
