Newbie needs rust repair help…
Hello to all, I have looking at this site, on and off, for some time, and the information and pictures you share is really tremendous. What a great site this is.
I am starting on my “project 72 Blazer” and could really use a hand. My truck it is just a bit on the rusty side – the worst of it around the “B” pillars! In fact, some pieces are so far gone I can not envision how they were originally. My plan is to start by cutting the front skin of the pillar off above the floor line and start with the short “back of the cab” section but I am open hoping for suggestions for the “order” I should proceed with. I have not been able to locate a source for the panel that bolts to the rear, side, of the rocker boxes and there is nothing left to repair, so if anyone knows where any are … I have also found two bolts (see pictures - if I can figure out how to post them) and would really like to see what they originally attach to! Any pictures you might be able to post would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance. |

that "?" is actually what is left of the rear cab support(just an angles piece of metal)/inner rocker panel/ front bed panel support. I don't know the official names but the links should help. Hopefully this should give you some direction. If you need more help just ask away.
i got to research all my threads I started cause I replaced everything your pointing out. here are the links, the first couple probably won't be much help. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=117882 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=118484 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=121189 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=121975 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=122912 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=136583 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=144304<---this should be the most helpful http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=144438<---this should be the most helpful http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=146497 couple more links http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=158061 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=159744 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=160814 sorry I wish I had more images to show you but i lost most of my data when I had some computer issues. I got to do the driver side so It's not like I won't be getting those old memorys back. Last edited by Alexis; 08-02-2005 at 01:26 AM. |

Welcome to the board from SE sask, a great source of info on restoring can be found on this board from members, one of whom resides (one of many) in Saskatoon. His board name is Stingray. We usually meet at the CKOM cruise weekend, good place to put a face to a name.
