1956 chevy pickup flatbed frame 3/4 ton

Can I use a chevy pick flatbed frame on a regular 1956 chevy pickup shortbed 3100? if so, what kind of modification do i need to make on the frame. thanks eveyone!

The frame is from 1955 with a dually rear end and 18" wheels / tires.

A 3/4 ton frame can be made to fit -- you'll have to cut about 9 inches out of it behind the rear cab mounts so that it matches the 114" wheelbase of the 3100/31. That's if the frame really is a 3/4 ton frame and not a 1 ton frame. The one tons had a longer wheelbase than the 3/4 tons. And as I recall, the frame channels are taller between the front and rear axles.

Note that the heavier one ton frames DO NOT have a hump above the rear axle whereas the lighter trucks do.
