67 SWB with OBS Fleetside bed

While the OBS (Old Body Style 88-98) stepdside beds seem to flow nice on our trucks (except the wheel opening of course), the fleetside doesn't appear to flow quite as well...

This one was at the Carlisle swap meet FOR SALE area...

Here he was during the burnout contest

Looks like he shaved the body lines off the 88-98 bed. Too bad he didn't add one back on that looks correct...

That`s what I was thinking. The "Sportsides"(last Stepside was`87) are used for the body-line that, sort of,matches.I personally don`t care for the look, though. To me,it`s just the easy way out from finding the right bed.Like when everybody was putting wood flatbeds on old trucks.I like the old trucks complete.

What's up with the chrome cowl panel? It just doesn't work for me.

Some people wnt to chrome anything that bolts off. This was a common thing on 60-72s as well as Stepside steps years ago.Ever seen a chrome tool box?I like to chrome glovebox doors, ash trays, and the little cover under the steering column. That`s about it.

how exactly is it that these idiots miss body lines by that much? the 88-98 sportsides look decent, the rocker panels are very close, as is the upper body line. a little work on the pinch weld at the bottom and you're in business. anybody else notice on the 99+ trucks the hood looks very similar to a 67-72?

The 2001-2002 Chevy HD truck hoods do look very much like my '67 hoods

I think the squared off rear wheel opening looks weird on a truck with a curved front wheel opening

I think it`s funny calling a bed old body style when it`s 30 years newer than the truck it`s on.
