My wife's '69

I got my wife's '69 back from the body shop last week and got it put back together. The owner of the body shop I work next to needed a engine put in his Subaru so i did it in exchange for paint and body work. We are going for a vintage look with the flat black. We are going to get the name of her antique business hand painted on the doors with some pinstripes so it looks like an old shop truck. It's a 307/4-speed but my frind in Cheyenne owns a machine shop and is putting together a 350 for it. I have a turbo 350 ready to bolt to it. What do you think so far?

kaycee- ADC Racing, they used to be in Fort Collins, he's only been up there a couple months.
tnblazerk5- Yes, they will be old school, the amount of them will be decided by the misses.

Very Nice! The flat black is a good look and the lettering ought to work well for both the truck and her business. 350 w/HEI / TH350 w/mild shift kit should make it very nice for her. What rearend gears are you using?

How and how much did you lower her 69? Did you notch the frame? What is the width of the excellent looking rims? What are you doing to the interior?

I plan on doing something similar to my 70 body and your stance looks pretty good.

Thanks tomatocity. As for your questions:
1-It has 3.73's but we might go with a 3.08, she'll be running up and down the interstate.
2-The front has 3/4 of a coil cut and the rear has 4'' drop springs. No notch.
3-The wheels are 8'' rallys powdercoated apple green.
4-the interior will be close to stock but we have a Mexican blanket on the seat for a cover to help the look. When we do power steering I want to do a Moon metal flake steering wheel.

I'll make sure to keep everybody updated on the build since this look is gaining in popularity.

Are those the thinner stainless steel wheel rings? Nice touch.

Power steering. I found out tonight the 6-cylinder PS pulley is a different alignment than the 8-cylinder pulley. You also need an additional lower pulley for the PS. I am about ready to spend the bucks and buy all new billit pulleys.

Jefe, nice truck, orange wheels will look awesome.

tomatocity- The trim rings are off my old '99 S-10. I like how thin they are because they make the wheels look wider and show off more of that crazy green.

you are so right on the rims. I gotta grab a couple of sets of these rings. I have a 93 S10 with these rings and need to replace them with ones that don't rattle, plus I need a set for my future 15x8 (inspired by you).

Nice Truck!

That's the nice thing about powdercoated wheels, the trim rings really stick because of the thickness of the powder!

I just wanted to bump this thread to the top, I LOVE both of those trucks so much!!! My dad just got his 67 short/fleet running perfectly and we are in the process of eliminating surface rust and POR-15ing it. It it going to be flat black with green wheels (we already have the paint ) I am going to do a similar paint scheme to jefe's thank-you so much for these AWESOME pix!
(and the inspiration) This board never ceases to amaze me

P.S. -- Videos to come of dad's + my truck dual burnouts! :mp:
