How long did it take you to get it from the time of purchase to the delivery day? I need to order GenIII motor mounts kit from them this week.

Well, I ordered on Tuesday and they came in on Friday.

I asked questions on their tech email to make sure I ordered the correct stuff. I got fast replies. Finally, they gave me a quote (which includes shipping charge) and I called the next day to order. They even knew who I was and what I was ordering. Gotta love it.

Great people to deal with . I ordered a front end rebuild kit and dropped spindles, they were more than helpful and the stuff showed up qiuck. Can't ask for better than that.

What's up Alexis.... Here's a couple pics. I think the last time I posted, I had just put in the LT1. I've got the front suspension on with the 2" drop spindles, bought a 60/40 seat from a 99 silverado, and just bought some bags last night. It's coming along. My goal is to get it rolling by Thanksgiving so that I can tow it from my cousin's house to my house.

Jay

ugh...pics too big. I'll post it in a little bit.

Ok, I just ordered ECE's GenII motor mount kit. I called them back to clarify on the shipping information and talked to some guy named Jeff. He didn't seem to know about our little community here He was very helpful, really informative, disgustingly nice and told me everything I needed to know and informed me everything would ship today.

The WS6 Ls1/T56 is supposed to arrive at my house tomorrow (10am-1pm)

jay-dawg, i own a 94 z 28 with the lt1.

i would like to recommend a brand new water pump and a new optispark distributor before you get everything buttoned up. check www.dynotech-eng.com, i bought one for my car and it is a great product. The water pumps have a habit of dumping on the dist. and killing them. Depends on mileage of your engine, anything over 45,000 and I would go ahead and replace.

There are several similar flaws with the LT1 as mentioned above. It's really important to fix them too I had a link to a forum where they talked about all the forums, but ... can't seem to find it right now .

Here's a good chunk of info on tips you can use to make your LT1 more reliable:

http://gmhightechperformance.com/tec...esh/index.html

I sent the article to a friend via Trillian recently (ICQ). I'm trying to find the other link. The above article talked well about ways to work around the flaws in the older ones.

The quoted info below is what I sent to one of my friends who has a '95 Impala. I would read both threadds in full and follow the associated links to see the stuff that they talk about. This was kind of an Eye opener for me, and I ended up going with the LS1 after reading all of the info within.:

Quote:
http://www.projecttransam.com/projects2.asp

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php3?t=52057

the top link is info about the problem with LT1s which may not affect you
the second link is a thread on two things:

1) how to drop an LT1 in my truck and
2) other problems with the LT1

there are at least a half dozen problems, some of which may concern you when putting your engine back together. it's definitely worth a read.

Ah well. I guess you already saw the information regarding the LT1 that was contained in those four pages.

It's been about a week since I ordered my engine mount kit. I still haven't gotten anything.

Ordering was great. Prices were great. Shipping is dog ass slow. I guess it could be because of the journey from west coast to east coast, because I saw they dropped it off at UPS the same day, but I think they should offer Fedex or something as an alternative. I think the US Postal Service coulda got my damned mounts here faster.

Meanwhile, I could have spent my four day weekend installing the motor, but now I can't do anything until after my trip to mexico in 10 days

I swear I have the worst freaking luck with buying from stores. Why do they all hafta have one annoying ass problem?

It's on the truck for delivery today, maybe I'll get them today if I'm lucky. I ordered parts from someone here on the forum a day before the mounts and the person I ordered from got me my parts before ECE did. I tracked the package the whole way - it took the most screwed up indirect route I've ever seen.

I had them bookmarked, but I got 5 computers I work with, so it's a PITA to locate the bookmarks sometimes.
