Does anyone have pictures or drawing of where the charcoal canister lines go from the canister.

One hose comes from driver side valve cover vent to canister.
One hose from canister to base of carb.
One hose from canister to gas tank along frame.

I will look for a pic...

Sorry, no pic on my hard drive. I think this was a CA only thing for fuel re-claim. If you need a pic I can take one tonight, its still running on my 307.

farside847, would you be willing to trace the hoses from your carburetor back to the canister to see exactly where each one connects on the canister? Thank you.

Ok, here we go. Here is a pic of my filter hidden behind the battery.

Here is the same pic again labeled. The hose on the cap goes to the base of the carb. The hose next
to the cap goes to the vent pcv valve on the driver side valve cover, and the third hose furthese
away from the cap goes straight down and hooks up to a return-to-gas-tank line that runs along
the frame.

Here is a pic of my pcv valve, it has an interesting T, one goes to the filter and the other goes
back to the intake.

I believe all this was only done in california. All us tree hugging hippies

FYI - if you put your hand up under the bottom of the charcoal canister .. you'll feel a filter .... its round and fits up under there by folding it and sliding it in .. i replaced mine acouple years ago .. it was %^ckin crusty

My uncle who lives in Santa Fe has a canister on his 71 or 2 chevy, and i dont think it was ever a california truck, so i am not sure about them being on california only trucks

Thanks a lot farside847 for posting those pictures! They are very helpful. Do you know what the port on the carb is that has the small hose from the canister cap connected to it? I'm trying to hook up my canister to an Edelbrock 1400 carburetor, so I need to figure out which port on my carburetor has the same function as the port on your Rochester carb.

Sorry, I have no idea... Mine is a stock 2bbl rochester I think. Its almost at the bottom of the carb, on the passenger side front corner.
