FINALLY...but have a question

Well as of 10:30 last night the "project" has it's SSBC Force 10 front calipers in place. It's been an uphill battle but they are finally on and clearing the wheels.

Here's the question...In order to get them to clear the wheels I had to run a 5/16" spacer....this gives me about 1/4" of clearance between the caliper and the wheel...is that gonna be enough? I was told by SSBC that "As long as they clear when everything is torqued down, it doesn't matter if it's 1/16ths of an inch." I'm just concerned with flexing or something. Am I just being concerned for no reason?
