How much would i have to cut off the spring to lower it 1 1/2" on the front.I have 2 1/2" drop spindles and would like 4" total on the front. Anyone done this?

I cut one ring out of my springs years ago and it dropped the front end about 2-3 in.

Your kinda stuck because if you are going to cut them it should be 1 full coil only from the bottom Otherwise the spring doesn't sit in the a-arms correctly.The ends of the springs have to be the same in relationship to each other as the stock ones are. With 1 full coil you get about 2 - 2 1/2 inch drop. Here is a picture of my sons truck with 1 coil cut and 2 1/2 drop spindles. Also has 6 inch rear drop coils and 2 inch drop blocks.

Why can't you cut half a coil? The springs aren't pig tailed are they?

cut my front ones 1/2 coil and yes they do "klunk" every once in a while, did this probably 10 years ago.

i cut a coil and a half but i used 3/4 ton springs and it lowered me 3 inches and i cant really complain about the ride quality either

I cut 1 and 1/4 coil from the bottom of the front on mine but I rotated the coil so the end would rest back in the dipped out area of the a-frame where it started. I done this with the truck jacked up so the spring wouldn't be compressed. It did affect my caster and camber adjustments some but here is what it looks like. No drop spindles just cut coils. I running 235 70R15 tires all way around.
