question ???

ok i just got a wrecked 79 chevy shortstep 4x4 the frame is tweked pretty bad on the pasnger side front and i already have a 2wd 79 chevy shortstep that is fine my question is how hard would it be to take all the 4x4 stuff out of the wrecked truck and put it in the 2wd truck?

you have to make sure you get the measurements right of your truck could "crab walk" down the road..as well as wear on tires and parts.. also need to swap trans humps as the 4x4s is high to clear t-case. since you have the 2wd steering box in place might as well conver to cross over steering.. if the frame is twicked that bad, your spring mount might be messed up as well...

swap

HELLO,just a little info that might help,,,dummy me got a 2 wheel drive cab,cut out the "trans" hump for my 4x4,painted underneath cab etc. just to realize i forgot about the t-case hump that prerunner is talking about,,so just a little info i hope help's...

If you ask me, it wouldn't be worth the trouble. I'd just buy a 4x4.
