Post H-pipe or X-pipe on exh.?

anybody out there runnin' an "h" or an "x",type cross-over pipe in thier exhaust sys.? i would like to run the x as the research shows better flow, kinda like mandrel bends in the exhaust tubing makes better flow.my thoughts are that if i go w/ the x type sys.won't that make the two sections of tubing come together thus making a ugly sight from the side?(i hate when you can see the tubing showing from a side angle, just my opinion.)i would think the h type would only need to be bent in the middle and keep the tubing up inside the running lines of the frame-rails. where does the h or x cross-over at to get minimal amt. of pipe showing? what you guy's got?
